There are three types of hollow structural sections rectangular hollow sections (RHS), square hollow sections<\/a><\/strong> (SHS), and Circular Hollow Sections<\/strong><\/a> (CHS). Each hollow section has its own set of advantages, properties, and applications.<\/p>\n

Hollow Circular Sections<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The first type of hollow structural section was circular hollow sections (CHS). CHS is commonly used in construction, mechanical, and structural applications. They have smooth and clean lines, no sharp or protruding edges, or a lack of sharp or protruding edges. It also provides an excellent combination of strength, practicality, and aesthetic appeal for applications that require all three. CHS also referred to as round steel tubes, are a typical kind of steel section used in various formats across various industries.<\/p>\n

These hollow-section pipes and tubes are used when failure is not an option. This CHS is a fully certified product that is suitable for low-temperature applications.<\/p>\n

Hollow Rectangular Sections<\/strong><\/h3>\n

HS is also commonly used in construction, mechanical, and structural applications. They differ from CHS, however, in that they have flat surfaces. As a result, for some construction applications, Rectangular Hollow Section<\/strong><\/a> may be the more structurally sound and cost-effective choice.<\/p>\n

This is especially true in applications requiring extensive joining and welding. Because of its sleek form and clean shape, RHS can also be used for architectural aesthetics.<\/p>\n

RHS requires little to no edge preparation for soldering or joining. Parts only need to be cut straight when joined to other flat surfaces due to the rectangular shape of this type of hollow section.<\/p>\n

Hollow Square Sections<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In terms of mechanical properties, aesthetics, and structural behavior, SHS is regarded as the intermediary between Rectangular Hollow Section<\/strong><\/a> and CHS. They have a flat surface that is ideal for joining and welding and requires little to no edge preparation.<\/p>\n

An SHS also has a symmetrical appearance, similar to a CHS. SHS is sometimes the best option because it provides an ideal balance of strength, functionality, and aesthetic appeal for applications that require all three.<\/p>\n

It has high carrying characteristics Circular Hollow Section <\/a><\/strong>which reduces corner radii. The hollows have vacant space that can be usefully used in industries. The hollow square is available in EN, ASTM, GB, and JIS grades. It has a width of 2 mm to 30 mm and a length of 6 m to 12 m. This product meets nearly all international standards and has passed numerous tests.<\/p>\n
